This stub will be needed if you have a welded gearbox so that the input shaft will reach the crankshaft.
A pilot bearing which can be included will need to be installed so the stub fits.
Bearing and bearing cap need to be removed for installation.
Spot weld the stud to place or use a punch tool to make marks along the circumference so it can be fitted tightly.
The stub is extra long so that you can shorten it to desired length.
